SimpleCommunities

SimpleCommunities is an easy to use CMS (Content Management System) designed for small groups to keep in touch and share information on the web.  It is built with the popular programming language PHP, and uses MYSQL as it's database.

SimpleCommunities has several features, including:

• Blogs/News - Registered users each get their own blog, useful for posting important news or just your day-to-day activities.  The 10 most recent entries are displayed on the front page.
• Commenting System - Users can post comments on blog entries and photos easily.
• Fully Integrated HTML & Text editor - Making a web site has never been easier! Using the power of the popular FCKEditor, creating a blog entry or composing an email is as easy as using Word.  You can even insert images, YouTube videos, and smilies  
• Event Calendar - Registered users can schedule events with multiple repeat options (Singe Event, Holiday, Birthday/Anniversary, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly).
• Photo Albums - Each registered user gets their own photo gallery on the site where they can upload photos, and even email the photos easily to any email address directly from the site.
• Member Directory - Registered users get their own profile which lets other users keep track of recent photos added, news stories, etc.  Member birthdays are automatically added to the event calendar, plus you can email other members directly from the site without having to remember all those email addresses.
• Documents Page - Admins can upload important community documents to share with registered users.
• Fully Customizable Template - Admins can easily change the website colors and images without knowing any HTML or CSS.  The admin section features a handy color-picker for all of the elements, as well as a file browser for uploading images to use as backgrounds, logos, etc.
• File Browser - Registered users can also upload images to be used in blogs, and re-use those images at any time.  Uploaded files are kept in user-specific folders so your users will always have access to their files!
• Easy Install - All you need is a server that can run PHP, and a MYSQL database.  The easy install script will make sure you have all the correct folder permissions, assist you with setting up the site for use, populate the database tables, and create your first administrator account!
